IEF Around The Globe: BEHAVE Workshop June 2005

13 - 17, 2005 Blantyre, Malawi

IEF conducted a training on "Applying the BEHAVE Framework: A Workshop on Strategic Planning for Behavior Change in Child Survival" developed by the Academy for Educational Development. Twenty-two staff members from IEF Malawi, the Ministry of Health, and other non-governmental organizations from Nsanje District participated in the 5-day training designed to provide practical skills to create effective behavioral strategies and interventions. The training included practical training on techniques to identify specific behavioral determinants using proven social research methods. The staff and the MOH will now use their new skills daily to help families with young children in Nsanje district of Malawi, Africa, to practice healthy behaviors and to seek medical care from quality sources.
