The IEF Privacy Policy

The International Eye Foundation (IEF) is committed to protecting the privacy of our online donors, customers, or those visiting our website. When browsing the IEF website, we do not collect any personal information that would identify you. "Non-identifying" information, such as number of visitors and pages visited is collected, in order that we may make improvements to our site.

Personal data you have provided in making an online donation, requesting a quote, or subscribing to a mailing list will be used internally by IEF to provide you with information about IEF's sight-saving work and ways you may further support our efforts. You may indicate your desire to not receive such updates when entering your information on the online Donation form.

We will not share your email address or telephone number with third parties, with the exception that your telephone number and other information is provided to the third party financial institution that processes our credit card transactions. They receive your name, address, telephone number, credit card number, and expiration date solely for the purpose of verifying the credit card number and processing the transaction in a secure environment. Their encryption technology is the industry standard security protocol. They have state-of-the-art firewalls and other security technology in place to insure the confidentiality of your transactions.

Postal Mailings

The International Eye Foundation may share postal mailing lists with other non-profits whose missions we view as compatible with IEF's. Each time we make such an exchange, it is for a one-time use by the other non-profit. You may request we withhold your name and address from other non-profits. You may use any of the following methods to opt-out of having your name and address shared with other non-profits:

1. Email us at ief@iefusa.org. Please include your name and address to enable us to locate your record in our database.
2. Telephone the IEF Public Affairs Officer at 240-290-0263, ext. 18. Please include your name and address to enable us to locate your record.
3. Write to us at the following address. Please include your name and address so that we may locate your record:

Please note that mailings require significant lead time and a list exchange may have already occurred when you submit your opt-out request.

Updating Information

To update your contact information, change or correct information the IEF has about you, or to remove your name from IEF's lists, please use one of the following methods:
