IEF Programs: River Blindness in Malawi
IEF is the key non-governmental organization/partner working with Malawi's national program to control onchocerciasis, commonly known as "river blindness." In the southern part of the country where onchocerciasis is prevalent, 1,469,951 people were treated in 2006, an increase from 346,799 in 2000. The program will expand year by year until every eligible person is treated. [ IEF Programs ]
