SightReach® Management in Action:

VISUALIZA

Guatemala City, Guatemala

Visualiza, one of IEF’s original SightReach® Management partners and now an IEF “Regional Demonstration Site” in Guatemala City hosted a two-day orientation workshop attended by 17 ophthalmologists and administrators representing 10 clinics in 4 Latin American countries in February 2008. With support from the William M. and Ramona N. Carrigan Endowment, IEF’s John Barrows and Raheem Rahmathullah worked in collaboration with Visualiza’s Dr. Mariano Yee, Dr. Nicholas Yee, and administrator Juan Francisco Yee providing participants an opportunity to understand IEF SightReach® Management sustainability model. A tour of Visualiza let them see first hand a highly productive and financially sustainable eye clinic serving all economic levels of society including the poor. After analyzing results, IEF will explore which clinic participants have the greatest commitment and potential for successful transition to a social enterprise as a SightReach® Management partner.[ Back to SRM ]
