A native of Colombia, Teresa joined IEF in 2002 as an Administrative Assistant. With over 20 years experience in professional office positions and a history of impressive performance in high-volume record keeping, Teresa skillfully manages administrative duties and donor relations. She was later promoted to the Office Manager position.

As IEF’s Office Manager, she ensures efficient administrative operations and her robust knowledge in the management of donor databases helps build and maintain IEF donor support. Collaborating with the President & CEO and the Director of Finance, Teresa also maintains account payables, account receivables, and billing.

Before coming to the US in 1980, Teresa completed a two-year business degree in Colombia. Her first position in the US was with the Embassy of Italy for two years. She then served as the Membership Supervisor and Dispatcher for the National Maritime Union for 13 years. During that time, she gained her US citizenship and attended Howard University in Washington, DC where she studied Medical Assisting and Billing.

In her spare time, she loves to garden and run, she has participated in many local races, some of which she has done to raise funds for IEF.
