A native of Colombia, Teresa joined IEF in 2002. With over 20 years’ experience in professional office positions and a track record of strong performance in high-volume record keeping, Teresa skillfully manages administrative duties and donor relations.

Before coming to the US in 1980, Teresa finished a two-year business degree in Colombia. Her first position in the US was with the Embassy of Italy for two years. She then served as the Membership Supervisor and Dispatcher for the National Maritime Union for 13 years.   During that time, she gained her US citizenship and attended Howard University in Washington, DC where she studied Medical Assisting and Billing.

As IEF’s Officer Manager, she ensures efficient administrative operations and her robust knowledge in management of donor databases helps build IEF support. Working with the CFO, Teresa also maintains account payables, account receivables, and billing.

Teresa is married with two grown daughters who graduated from the University of Maryland, one with a Master of Arts degree from Loyola University. In her spare time, she loves to garden and run, she has participated in many local races, some of which she has done to raises funds for IEF. Admirably, Teresa has run half-marathons and the Marine Corps Marathon which she finished twice.
