IEF has numerous initiatives taking place in Latin America and the Caribbean. This includes countries such as Haiti, Jamaica, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama.
The Middle East covers a large amount of land mass and some tough conditions for people to locate eye care facilities and professionals. IEF currently facilitates eye care facilities or partners with 7 major programs in this region.
Africa consists of 20% of all landmass in our world. IEF has a long history of implementing programs in this region which encompass six hospitals that span Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, and Cameroon.
The dedicated IEF team has forged strong partnerships in the Asian region, particularly in Bangladesh and India. This has resulted in cultivating programs in seven hospitals, one eye center, and two research facilities.
Although IEF has a heavy international presence, the organization also has initiatives here in North America as well. Some may be closer than you realize. IEF has worked with partners on programs such as Wills on Wheels, which was part of the Mission 20/20 project. This Philadelphia based initiative was in conjunction with the Wills Eye Hospital Department of Pediatrics & Genetics and the Eagles Youth Partnership.
