IEF COVID-19 Statement

Dear friends and supporters:

Due to the health risks associated with COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the International Eye Foundation (IEF) is following closely the guidance from CDC, and the national, state and local authorities. IEF has adopted a “work-from-home” policy through April 30, 2020, when we will re-evaluate.

IEF President & IAPB Vice-President Victoria Sheffield shares the recent IAPB Pivotal Eye Health Resolution by WHO Executive Board

International Eye Foundation (IEF) President and IAPB Vice President, Victoria Sheffield shares IAPB’s new Eye Health Resolution endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board. In the article posted on iapb.org, the resolution that aims to tackle the rising rates of vision impairment and blindness is discussed.  Ms. Sheffield notes that “the global eye health community is excited about WHO’s emphasis on eye health and looks forward to endorsement by the entire WHO World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland in May.”

IEF Heads to Capitol Hill for World Sight Day 2019

World Sight Day is the most important advocacy and communications day in the eye health calendar. In honor of World Sight Day, IEF, a founding member of VISION2020/USA, is again co-sponsoring a Congressional briefing on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC on October 17th to raise awareness and advocate for more resources for eye health from our Congressional leaders.

IEF Supports 2019 Vision and Eye Health Campaign

IEF is proud to announce that we recently worked with Health Awareness on the 2019 Vision and Eye Health campaign. A printed publication was enclosed within every copy of the Guardian newspaper and the content is available online at www.healthawareness.co.uk/eye-health/ and is also available in an online printable version here. The campaign featured exclusive content from key thought leaders and industry voices about the importance of eye health and how to safeguard your sight.
